How many of us are familiar with architects’ contribution to the field of research dedicated to creating a sustainable built environment? Is it possible to create sustainable and equitable cities if general audiences remain uninformed about the recent research trends and development practices in the field of architecture? As professionals dealing with the development of the built environment of cities to ensure the health and wellbeing of people and communities, we believe that we have to make our research methods and outcomes accessible not only to our academic and professional community but also to the broader society. We need a barrier-free, mutual and communicative platform where Bangladeshi architects could present their research work. We are taking this initiative to create a platform for Bangladeshi architects to highlight different aspects of their academic and professional research to broader audiences. We also believe that this research-oriented environment would inspire architecture students to perceive the current and future trends of built environmental research that are crucial for the sustainable development of cities.

The ‘RESEARCHITECT‘ (Research + Architect) is thus a scholarly platform aiming to provide space for sharing and showcasing the valuable research contribution of the architects (academic, professionals and architecture students) in Bangladesh to the general public and the stakeholders.

To meet this end, the contents, language, and illustrations used in this platform are made to be easily comprehensible, devoid of technical jargon. Through this platform, architects of Bangladesh would stretch their research findings and fill the knowledge gap between researchers and the common people of the society.
